Ahhh... It’s a new day. My focus and perspective have been restored.Isn’t this Iris gorgeous? As it unfurls, it progresses from deep black purple (like the buds below it) to this cranberry maroon. A gift from a friend, we planted it years ago. Each year, it slips back up, according to its inner rhythms, dazzles us in a crescendo of form and color, then slips away. I’m certain the word is used too casually, too often, but this natural, unattended beauty is awesome.

I always find a potter around the garden soothes the nerves, unless like me, you have 6 bags of bark chips to spread... hey ho, me and the garden will benefit from it, I'm sure ;o)
