From The Ashes - So To Speak

Ahhh... It’s a new day. My focus and perspective have been restored.

Isn’t this Iris gorgeous? As it unfurls, it progresses from deep black purple (like the buds below it) to this cranberry maroon. A gift from a friend, we planted it years ago. Each year, it slips back up, according to its inner rhythms, dazzles us in a crescendo of form and color, then slips away. I’m certain the word is used too casually, too often, but this natural, unattended beauty is awesome.

Thanks for listening yesterday.

I always find a potter around the garden soothes the nerves, unless like me, you have 6 bags of bark chips to spread... hey ho, me and the garden will benefit from it, I'm sure ;o)

Hey Roo-
You're right. Especially if there's a bit of a breeze. And if the screens on the front porch are all tight, it's the perfect place to enjoy the view afterwards!

With all of these awesome nature, flower etc. photos, I have to ask if you and Chuck have watched any of the Planet Earth series? I absolutely love it. If you haven't checked it out, its really interesting, and visually stunning.--KRL
