It’s true that Puccini’s “Nessun Dorma” is one of my most beloved arias. My favorite version is Luciano Pavorotti’s on the 1994 album “The Three Tenors In Concert”. But this young guy from Wales brought me to tears. Paul Potts recently won the Britain’s Got Talent competition. He has been studying and performing for many years, but this is his breakthrough, star making performance. There are a slew of other videos of his appearances on BGT, so you can swing by YouTube if you’d like to see more.
Bravo Paul Potts!

My friend Wendy who lives in the Uk sent me this clip the other day and you are right it was a sobfest here at my desk. I love when unassuming people who may have felt they have nothing to offer the world, rise up and show everyone a thing or two!!!
OOh Paul Potts!
I was wondering what all the fuss was about for a singing Cambodian mass- murderer..
Hey Ronnie -
I love that he has devoted himself to honing his talent, while still living an ordinary life.
His really is a great story, with what we hope will be a long, successful, and very happy ending!

Hey Roo -
You and Chuck must share the same ear and thought processes! When he heard Paul Potts' name, his mind leapt to that monster Pol Pot as well.

Yowza! That guy is good. (Does it make me weird that I sometimes think Simon is hot?)
Also one of my favorite pieces. I have it on my iPod and it comes up on shuffle sometimes when I am in traffic on the way to work. Try it sometime: putting the windows down and blasting out the people in traffic with you--O.R.R. Operatic Road Rage

Hey KRL -
No, I don't think you're weird. While the TV is on "mute", Simon could be perceived to be hot - especially if he smiles!
As for O.R.R. - Operatic Road Rage - I definitely think you're on to something there!!! LOL!
