Yes, Virginia...

Up against the barn, where there is a perennial stand of milkweed, allium rises up every spring. This year, a brilliant, blazing parrot tulip has appeared amidst the allium and the first milkweed shoots. Neither Chuck nor I planted this bulb. More importantly, we both swear we’ve never even seen it before. All we can conclude is that Yes, Virginia, There Is A Tulip Fairy!

There is, also if only I could get the Spanish bluebell fairy to cede all rights to the English bluebell fairy and bug out, I would be happier ;o)

Hi All -
So glad you liked the tulip and that you completely agree about the Tulip Fairy! Chuck and I both feel much better now!
As for "Yes, Virginia..." it refers to a newspaper column at the end of the 19th century when a young American girl asked if Santa Claus was real. The New York columnist wrote: "Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus". I tried to embed a link in the last sentence. If it is not appearing as an underlined clickable link, try hovering over "Yes Virginia".

May you all have lots of garden fairies of your own!
;o)
