Inauguration Info

It’s difficult to believe that on Tuesday, President-Elect Barack Obama will, at long last, become the 44th President of the United States of America. The last eight years have been such a blight on this country and the damage has by no means been confined within our borders. As I watched Barack Obama and Joe Biden travel by train from Philadelphia to Washington D.C. yesterday, I couldn’t help but wonder if their shoulders are broad enough to handle the tremendous burdens facing us. But it won’t be just their shoulders alone, it will be all of us. From members of the President’s Cabinet to the Congress to every citizen, as well as world leaders and folks all around the world. So many of us want to rise up and out of the complex financial and geopolitical morass we are mired in. The challenge is enormous; we are all charged with working on the solutions.

The best source of information during this transition of power from the current Bush-Cheney administration to the Obama-Biden administration has been the Change.gov website. If you are looking for all the details on the upcoming inauguration, the Presidential Inaugural Committee’s website is the place to go.

I think he swears his oth at 5pm our time, so I am going to make sure I have the news tuned in on the pC, or nip into the boardroom and stick on the TV. It will be a truly momentus occasion.

As for Dads, well I see what you mean, 3 very indivdual posts, and I somehow wonder if they may have just got on very well if the ever met. I think they would have. ;o)

Hi Roo -
That is so very cool to think we'll all be focused on the same momentous event, from wherever we are, all around the world!

And who knows, perhaps all our Dads have gotten to know each other through us and have raised a glass to us all!
Yes, I'm going to hold onto that happy thought...
;o)
