Pomegranate Sighting!
Well, actually, pomegranates are widely available right now. My excitement is because we found Al Wadi Pomegranate Molasses at the Shaw’s Supermarket near Webster Square in Worcester! Last January I wrote about the challenge of finding a replacement for Trader Joe’s Pomegranate Glaze. We found Al Wadi’s product to be an excellent substitution. But up until now, we’ve only found it at Whole Foods and (not surprisingly) at a dear price. Shaw’s has priced the Pomegranate Molasses much more affordably. You can find it in their international foods aisles - which is a pretty darned interesting section of the store.

But have you tried the new pomegranate liquor?? I’m dying to know what it’s like and can’t find it in shops anywhere.
Persephone has yet to even flower *sighs*
Hi DMM -
No! I didn't even know it existed!
I found a brand called PAMA and will keep an eye out for it at our favorite liquor stores.
Thanks for the tip!
So sorry about Persephone...

Pomegranate Glaze? Sounds delicious! We have a huge Pomegranate tree in our garden. It's never been well taken care of, but Jake & I sprayed the buds (after petal drop) with organic insecticide (it's garlic, oil & something from crysanthemums - so really just stinks and keeps the bugs out!), so hopefully we'll soon be enjoying our fresh pomegranates! But that glaze... wish we could get that here!!
Hi Sue -
You can always take pomegranate juice and reduce it to a glaze. I love it on steamed vegetables with a little butter or in lots of different sauces for meat or fish - especially grilled tuna - Yum!
So hopefully your tree will produce lots of fruit for you and Jake to enjoy!
;o)
