It’s not just my favorite movie, it is hands down, bar none, the best movie ever made. Call me sentimental, I’ll claim the title proudly, but dang I love that movie!
Friendship, loyalty, a finely tuned moral compass, folks working in unison to achieve a common goal, well intentioned, warm, funny individuals - It’s A Wonderful Life has it all.
Every single time I watch it I come away with a deep sense of gratitude for things big and small.
So as Chuck and I sip our eggnog with a splash Gosling’s rum from Bermuda, Happy Chanukah, Merry Christmas and here’s to you Frank Capra, Clarence, George Bailey and the citizens of Bedford Falls - miracles all around!

Every time I watch it I weep - but then kleenex ads make me weep :)
Merry merry.
(& thanks for the e-card, most impressive Santa buzzed the opera house!)
Hi DMM -
Oh good, it's not just us!
And around here it's the Hallmark greeting card ads that get us all choked up.
I was delighted when I saw Santa flying around the Sydney Opera House!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

I have never watched this but it is often mentioned in the American movies or programs we watch - will have to try and get hold of it somehow..
Hi Ronnie -
I hope you can find a DVD of it. (Maybe once the Amazon.za site is finally up and running!)
I feel sure you will love it!

I've never seen that movie... better get my act together by the sound of things!!
Oh and please could you post your egg nogg recipe? We don't get it here and I've always wondered what's so special about it...
Hi Sue -
Do rent a DVD of the movie. It's great!
I'm afraid I don't have a family recipe for egg nog. Around here it's available pre-made in the dairy department of stores starting just before Thanksgiving and through New Year's. Even the "light" version is very rich and creamy. We grate a little nutmeg on top and we often put a splash of Gosling's dark rum in it as well.
I do have a recipe from the place where we get our organic, free-range eggs. They've been salmonella free for years so their eggs are safe. I'll find it and post it for you!
