Thanksgiving

Chuck and Al carving the turkey

There was hugging, cooking, laughing, uncorking, talking, stirring, pouring, basting, drinking, mashing, explaining, mixing, tasting, checking, photographing, oohing, aahing, discussing, improvising, carving, serving, herding, toasting, remembering, eating, watching, laughing, crying, hugging, goodbyeing.

It was all good.

For all of this, and more, I am thankful.

The one thing I want to do before I shuffle off this mortal coil is to attend a Thanksgiving dinner proper. I love the idea and intent behind it, and I think if for nothing but to bring back a spirit that has been sadly lost in many places, everyone should celebrate it.

Hi Roo -
It is a lovely holiday.
And there is a tradition of always making room for more people, so keep that in mind!
But in the meantime, I think you should declare your own Thanksgiving over there!

Hi Jeff -
Thanks for the alert - you're a doll!
I've been wrestling with software all day and haven't had a chance to make the blog-rounds!

Hi Carrie -
I'm very happy you like the photo!
Had I even thought of it, I could have put in stove breaking - but that shows how minor it was!
We were thrilled to be part of it all!
