Chuck and Al carving the turkeyThere was hugging, cooking, laughing, uncorking, talking, stirring, pouring, basting, drinking, mashing, explaining, mixing, tasting, checking, photographing, oohing, aahing, discussing, improvising, carving, serving, herding, toasting, remembering, eating, watching, laughing, crying, hugging, goodbyeing.
It was all good.
For all of this, and more, I am thankful.

The one thing I want to do before I shuffle off this mortal coil is to attend a Thanksgiving dinner proper. I love the idea and intent behind it, and I think if for nothing but to bring back a spirit that has been sadly lost in many places, everyone should celebrate it.
